Hey I am Dan.. Been playing WoW since release with the unavoidable 2 or 3 month breaks in between expansions. I own my own business so reliability and late nights/extended raid times are completely cool with me as I can get up pretty much when I like.. One of the most social guys you will meet (if i am online i am in Voice Comms) Ohh and I smoke Mary Jane
Please tell us about your raiding experience (pre-TBC, TBC and WotLK), if you didn't raid then please tell us about any other gaming experiences, be it WoW or other games:
ICC 10MAN (few HM)
Firelands 25MAN (Few HM)
DS 10MAN 8/8HC
MSV 10MAN 4/6N
HoF 10MAN 1/6N
Please tell us what you look for in a guild and what made you decide to apply to The Family Legion:
I would like a guild that knows what they are doing and is stable enough to raid each week without too much of a trouble to find its members.. I applied to you guys as you seem very like minded in your approach to raiding and believe it would fit in with my times and gameplay. Would be great to form some friendships in guild and hopefully become a strong member of your Core team for Patches and expansions to come. I should be accepted as i am an easygoing guy that can take criticism and is willing to listen to any advice that is given to me
If you were in any other guild/guilds before applying to us, why did you leave?
Ran a successful PvP guild on Burning Blade at the start of TBC which slowly turned into a dedicated 10 man raiding team for ICC10HC.. Was a very casual team at the time as we only raided 2 nights a week with very slack raid times and rules. Then transferred over to Outland horde to build another team for Cata.. I was unsuccessful and committed to PVP once again until the next patch began. When the fireland patch was released I joined Psychedelics (Horde) for a few raids and decided that guild wasnt for me. Ok when DS was released i ran a successful 10man Casual team 8/8HC which we continued into MoP with but people started to lose motivation after the first couple of weeks and the group kinda dispanded.
What is your view on progress raiding, raiding for achievements and raiding old content?
Because I have ran a guild in the past I understand that its hard to satisfy all your members and because i have experienced it first hand i have become very laid back with raiding old content for achievements as it still teaches coordination (in some cases).. And for Progressive raiding I understand that it can be tedious at times but when you're in TS with like minded people that are all focused on getting it down just as much as you are.. its the best feeling in the world when you actually defeat the encounter
We are not a hardcore guild. Which means we do not have as strict attendance requirements and sets IRL stuff first. However this leads to a bigger raid group. Ideally we want a raid group of about 15 people, which means sometimes people have to sit out. To make this fair we have a rotation system based on attendance. A more detailed explanation of the system can be found here. Is a signup system like this acceptable by you?
Never seen a system like that before but yes that would totally fine with me.. i dont mind cheering you guys on from the side lines
We are mainly a swedish guild, a few exceptions though. This means the language used in guildchat and ventrilo tends to be swedish. Ofcourse we all know and can speak english, but question is would it be a problem for you with a large part of conversations being in swedish:
Wouldnt be a problem for me but i would ask that all instructions and during raid combat would be in english.. Not sure if thats what you meant?
Please give any further information which you may be of interest to us and may support your application:
Ok.. Well i know i aint 100% geared just yet but i will be buying all the crafting items as soon as i have the gold.. and will be hopefully looking to win some items in LFR (was unlucky this week ) Please don't judge on gear alone as it will be sorted fairly quickly.. You wont regret bringing me into the raid as i am not the type of guy that will let a guild down once i have been admitted into a steady raid environment.
