Posted: 04 Jan 2015 16:47
Character Name: Plippy
Level and Class: Level 100, Warrior
Preferred Talent Specification: Protection
Armory Link: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/g ... ppy/simple
Purpose of joining (social or raiding): Both!
What is your /played time on your main character and any significant alts or previous main characters (please give the names and server of any significant alts or previous mains as well)?
I've played several other classes, but not significant to showcase.
Why did you choose to play the spec and the class you currently playing? Would you consider to play another class or spec if we feel this is better for the guild of the time being?
I choose to play tank because I felt that it brings a lot to the table. And I choose warrior because I like the mobility of the class. I wouldn't mind playing DPS on it either, though I do not have much experience in it.
Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
I'm 21 years old male and I spend most of my free time playing video games. I would say that I am calm and respectful to people I interact with. I enjoy staying "in the background" so to speak, although I will open my mouth if needed.
Please tell us about your raiding experience , if you don't have any raid experience please tell us about any other gaming experiences, be it WoW or other games:
My first time raiding was in TBC, although I only went through Karazhan and Zul'Aman. When WOTLK came out I raided Naxxramas. I went on until Ulduar release and only did half of that. Then I only did a few pugs in later raid, Cataclysm included. I started raiding "for real" again mid-MoP. Did SoO full normal and only just started HC. With the release of WoD I have been Guild-less and only done pugs in HM.
Please tell us what you look for in a guild and what made you decide to apply to The Family Legion:
Raiding is one of the reason I started looking for a guild, and I find it's more fun to do it with "same" people and not randoms. I also look for the social part of a guild, the game gets boring fast without it. The reason I decided to apply to The Family Legion was that I heard from it from my brother, who is a member. He said that the guild does raid regularly and that it is an active raid overall.
If you were in any other guild/guilds before applying to us, why did you leave?
The guild I am currently in is inactive and I am the only one around.
What is your view on progress raiding, raiding for achievements and raiding old content?
Strategy and planning, and executing a fight. I don't mind wiping, as long as lessons are learned from it. Learning and challenging yourself (and your group) is what makes raiding fun. The same goes for raiding for achievements, challenges are always fun. Raiding old content is mostly fun because the nostalgic feel.
We are not a hardcore guild. Which means we do not have as strict attendance requirements and sets IRL stuff first. However this leads to a bigger raid group. Ideally we want a raid group of about 16 people, which means sometimes people have to sit out. To make this fair we have a rotation system based on attendance. A more detailed explanation of the system can be found here. Is a signup system like this acceptable by you?
The part where it's not a hardcore guild is what makes it more suitable for me. The signup system is a good system according to me. I don't mind sitting out a raid, as long as I have the same "shot" as everyone else.
If you have the possibility to provide a screenshot of your current raid UI and any WoL logs showing your performance, please do so:
Don't have any of those, sorry :/ Hope it's not a game-breaker.
Please give any further information which you may be of interest to us and may support your application:
I wouldn't say that it supports the application, but might be interesting/fun for you guys to know. I mentioned it earlier as well, that my brother is in the guild at the moment. I know one of his characters is named Delphine.
Hopefully he won't mind me sharing that
